Which Modeling Packages do you use these days.
The Modeling world has changed and is changing these days with the power of the good old PC graphics card and GPU's. Polygon budgets are much higher these days and growing. Which opening the door to much easier use of the worlds leading packages such as Max and Maya rather than the niche products such as Creator.
I know many folks these day are using Max and Maya and use plug-ins that go straight into their run-times OSG users are a big proponent in this. Companies I work with are doing this or building every thing on the fly.
Now we have products like sketch-up being given away for free by Google and I would bet the MicroSofts Virtual Earth will be providing a modeling tool of some form shortly, which stirs the pot even more, these days of of paying stupid prices of 5k to 30k or modeling tools are numbered.....
Any so Modeling Packages do you mainly use these days ?

| We currently use Maya, Sketch-up and on the Fly Generation. While we support OFLT we don't use Creator, while a very competent modeler it's simply too expensive compared to the other products available today. |

We use mostly Creator, SketchUP and we have some kids tinkering with Max, Maya, Lightwave etc.
We are certainly not a one tool solution shop |

We use 90-95% Creator, a little Maya, a little Max and we use our own terrain generation and feature integration tool. Most feature modelling in production is Creator, though. _________________ BtB

Nice idea this poll!
Unfortunatly I'm using Softimage XSI, and the software is not on the list. By the way what is the best way to export model from XSI to OSG? I've tyed with Collada but do not work. Have you any other way. I find OSG very powerfull, but I do not find an efficient workflow with assets comming from XSI.
thank you |

Added the option Softimage XSI, what other formats can it export.
OSG 2.5x the latest has better Collada support, with the latest Dom but you have to build etc |
